All Eritreans in Our Community
Dear Friends,
This is a Call To Action to the Eritrean Community to ask your donation for a very important purpose…the completion of the Eritrean Community Center Expansion Project.
In just eight months, we are planning to start building a new expansion to the Community Center that will replace a 107 year old house that is unsafe and inadequate to meet the needs of our community.
This Center Expansion will make it possible to: w Provide a study center and computer lab for our children; wInclude meeting space for our youth and young adults; wHave space for parenting classes, language and citizenship classes and activities for our seniors; wProvide space for community gatherings, meetings and other activities and more.
We all know the struggles and challenges that we face. Too many of our youth have become involved in gangs. Too many of our seniors stay at home by themselves. Too many of our children are losing their connection with Eritrean culture and traditions, including the ability to speak Tigrigna.
That’s why this Center Expansion is so important and why we need your help! Over the past two years we have worked quietly to raise over $1 million from the City of Seattle, the State of Washington, the Federal Government and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
